Made Significant Contributions to Many Lives
It is evident that throughout his life, St Polycarp made important impacts on many people, including the people of today. It is said that he put an end to Christian persecution (local) by his martyrdom on the Sabbath day.
Additionally, his epistle to the Philippines (saying: “remain strong in faith”) is the only one left preserved from that early of a date. This letter is very important for today because it has shaped Christianity and gives us an understanding of various concepts including the New Testament.
As well as this, as he had gained many Christian followers, his teachings were imperative as well. St Polycarp taught Christians to
walk in truth, to do God’s will, to follow the Ten commandments, love what God loved, refrain from fraud, avarice, detraction and rash judgment, to forgive and be joyful.
This can be linked with youth today by giving key advice to those around them as Polycarp taught. Also, donations to charities help reflect a vast and major contribution to peoples lives.
